Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai Life at SRIHM Marissa Peer 15th, April 2022 “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind…” – Marisa Peer The Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation and Mrs. Durga Raheja organized an online symposium, in collaboration with the internationally awarded and acclaimed Ms. Marisa Peer. The event, titled “Our Greatest Pain caused by the lies we tell ourselves”, was held on 15th of April 2022 from 12.00 p.m. onwards, over the google meet platform. Ms. Peer, a renowned author and therapist certified in hypnotherapy and hypnotism, as well as an alumni of the Hypnotism Training Institute of Los Angeles and the Pritkin Longevity Centre amongst others, imparted her wisdom at this symposium. It was a golden opportunity for the students to learn to make friends with their inner critic – to right size that negative talk so it no longer overshadows every decision and action. Marisa was exceptionally enthusiastic to connect with the students and touched upon all aspects related to self-doubt and motivated each one of them to identify tools and techniques to conquer their self-doubts especially in the current tough times that each of us have gone through during the pandemic. The organizers of this symposium; the Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation and Mrs. Durga Raheja, always aim to lend an educative hand to the leaders of tomorrow, who shall sprout from the learners of today. The Foundation swears by its enduring mission; “…to empower and promote education in a supportive environment for enthusiastic students; to create a new paradigm in education which is based on praxis of the three I’s – Inclusion, Inspiration, and Innovation.”
