Atithya 2026 – Intercollegiate Hospitality Competition Report Date: 3 rd February 2026 to 6 th February 2026 Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management participated in Atithya 2026, an Intercollegiate Hospitality Competition held from 3rd to 6th February 2026 at AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Pune. Ten students (two teams) represented the institute and competed in multiple challenging events, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and dedication. The institute secured 1st Prize in Sustainovate, 2nd Runner-Up in Grazing Table, and 1st Runner-Up in Match Thy Wits (Quiz). In a proud moment, Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management was declared the Overall Champion, with Team 02 (winning the Overall Champions Trophy. This achievement reflects the institute’s excellence in hospitality education and competitive performance.
International Street Food Festival Date: 13 th February 2026 Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management organised an International Street Food Festival on 13 th February 2026, conducted by the Third Year Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts students as part of their practical. The students formed groups and showcased authentic street food specialties from Japan, Thailand, Turkey, and the Middle East. The event highlighted their culinary skills, presentation techniques, and knowledge of global cuisines. The festival was a vibrant display of creativity, teamwork, and international gastronomy, providing hands- on learning and cultural exposure.
First Among Equals 27th & 28th January, 2026 “First Among Equals” was organized by Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management on 27th and 28th January 2026. Students from all years participated in competitions across Culinary, Food and Beverage Service, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Media. External industry judges evaluated the events, making the program a successful platform for skill showcase and healthy competition.
Ekagra Annual Sports Day Report 29th & 30th January, 2026 Ekagra Annual Sports Day was organized by Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management on 29th and 30th January. The event included a variety of indoor and outdoor games, with enthusiastic participation from students. The sports day promoted teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness, making it a lively and successful event.
Industrial Visit to Imagicaa 23rd Jan, 2026 Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management organized an Industrial Visit to Imagicaa Theme Park on 23 January 2026 for the First Year students of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts. The visit provided students with practical exposure to large-scale operations in the entertainment and hospitality industry. Students observed guest service management, food and beverage operations, and safety procedures. Faculty members accompanied and guided the students throughout the visit. The industrial visit was informative and enriched the students’ practical knowledge.
Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai Shonar Bangla Shonar Bangla 6th October 2023 Namoshkar! On 6th October 2023, the students of Second year culinary Art took us on a culinary journey through the colourful state of Bengal. Named ‘Amantran Shonar Bangla’, the students welcomed faculty and senior staff of the Sheila Raheja Institute with a speech and dance. The guests then went on to enjoy the exceptionally curated Bengali cuisine which included traditional appetizers, main courses, desserts and beverages. The lunch was complimented by the well-thought-out décor and Bengali attire. With Chef Vinayak Shettigar at the helm, the event had the soul of Bengal through and through. Principal Conrad D’souza along with Mr. Arvind Tiwari and faculty members commended the entire team for their tireless efforts and praised the event as “Khoob Bhalo”.    
Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai International Chefs Day International Chefs Day Regional Dessert Competition 20th October 2023 On the occasion of International Chefs Day, a regional Indian dessert competition was held at SRIHM on 20th October 2023. It was a delightful celebration of India’s diverse and rich culinary traditions for the budding chefs from First year. The event saw 45 enthusiastic participants competing for top honours. The event showcased a vibrant palette of Indian desserts, each representing different regions of the country. From the rich and creamy caramel kharwas to the delightful mysore- pak, the diversity of the flavours was a true testament to India’s culinary heritage. The event was kick started by the students plating their respected desserts and to judge the dishes, the event was graced by the presence of renowned culinary experts, Chef Milind Tendulkar Sous Chef J.W.Mariott Mumbai, Chef Abdul Kadar former Executive Chef The leela Mumbai and Consultant Chef, Chef Gaurav Motling Pastry Chef Taj Santacruz. Their presence served as a source of inspiration for the participants. In addition to the dessert tasting, we celebrated the International Chef’s day by having the faculty and the judges cut the theme cake made by our own students. The competition was neck to neck and finally 6 winners were announced. They are as follows: Supergold- Rasika Patil ( bebinca) Supergold- Tanisha Patil ( caramel kharwas ) Gold- Saniya Bathija ( khubani-ka-Meetha ) Gold- Durva Kadam ( Wheat jaggery kher ) Silver- Aarjavi Raul ( Shirvale ) Silver- Mikail Ansari ( Shahi Tukada ) The event was an overwhelming success and it played a pivotal role in celebrating India’s culinary diversity as well as the International chef day. This event was a step towards preserving and promoting the culinary traditions of India.          
Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai Pasta Masterclass Pasta Masterclass by Michelin Star Chef Andrea Tranchero 9th October 2023 It was an absolute delight to have Andrea Tranchero, the Michelin star & Executive Chef of Barilla, conducting a workshop for the students of Third Year Hospitality studies on 9th October 2023. The workshop started with Chef Andrea providing insightful information about Barilla’s history, Italian cuisine, and how it has changed over the years. Chef Andrea then demonstrated the preparation of several types of pastas with different sauces, highlighting how each variety of pasta has its own distinct flavour. To add to the fun, a quiz was also held at the end and Soham Nagvekar, Krupa Panchal and Samida Kasabi emerged as the winners and were presented with gifts. To top it off, the students were gifted hampers and certificates as mementos of this interactive session. We look forward to having many more sessions with Chef Andrea Tranchero!        
Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai Nestle Young Star Chef Challenge 2023 Nestle Young Star Chef Challenge 2023 27th September 2023 The Nestle Young Star Chef Challenge was organised by WICA (Western India Culinary Association) and co-hosted by the Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM) on 27th September 2023. The culinary challenge gave the students a chance to present their dishes to a panel of eminent judges which included stalwarts from the hotel industry like Chef Abdul Qader, Chef Sydney D’Cunha, Chef Altamsh Patel and Chef Vivek Kadam. For the competition, the students were asked to prepare De-constructed Hyderabadi biryani (served in a plate) accompanied by a dessert of their choice. Mr. Yash Unhavne from IHM Mumbai won the Super Gold medal while SRIHM’s Ms. Ahana Bagga secured the Bronze medal.            
Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management Affiliated with University of Mumbai Morde Student Pastry Championship 2023 Morde Student Pastry Championship 2023 26th September 2023 The Morde Student Pastry Championship 2023, organised by WICA (Western India Culinary Association) and co-hosted by the Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM) on 26th September 2023 gave the students a chance to plate and present their creations to a panel of esteemed judges which included stalwarts like Chef Javed Merchant, Chef Anees Khan & Chef Rajesh Paramashivan. The competition was held in 2 classes. Class 1 was a sweet creation including a plated dessert and an on- the-go dessert snack. Class 2 included an Entremet cake. Ms. Dhruvi Shah from ITM IHM, Oshiwara won the /super Gold for her incredible Sweet Creation and Mr. Mihir Raje from ITM Nerul for his delicious Entremet Cake. SRIHM’s very own Ms. Hridaya Bobadi won the Gold medal for her plated dessert and on-the-go dessert snack.
