All three colleges jointly organized a Yoga Day program on 21 June 2023 which is celebrated as International Yoga Day all over the world. Students and faculty from SRBS, LSRoA and SRIHM participated in an hour-long session from 9 am to 10 am. A Yoga Instructor with a rich experience Mr. Ishank Raghupate was invited for the Yoga demonstration. Mr. Raghupate introduced the concept and the importance of the word ‘Yoga’ derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yog’ which means union i.e. union of body, mind and spirit. He started with a warm-up of stretches followed by the ancient breathing technique - Pranayama and various Asanas. He also taught everyone to perform Surya Namaskars and demonstrated a 10 minute Asana for the whole body which he advised everyone to practice on a daily basis. The session ended with everyone feeling grateful. It was truly a beautiful yogic experience where everyone left with a sense of belonging and community as the feeling of oneness enveloped us as we embraced this ancient practice and experienced its benefits.
