The much awaited event HOPE 2023 in a Bollywood-themed extravaganza, organized by the collaborative efforts of IMPACCT Foundation, Tata Memorial Center (TMC), and Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation (SGRF), unfolded as a heartwarming and impactful experience for cancer patients and survivors. The two-month preparation and constant rehearsals to the final execution led by the dedicated students and faculty of SGRF, along with others, proved to be a labor of love. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Avi the host, who then invited Dr. Girish Chinnaswamy, Head of Pediatric Oncology, to share insights. Tata Ke Kapil, represented by Sushant, a cancer survivor, added a personal touch to the occasion. The mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana by St. Jude Sewri children, choreographed by Tushar, featured 24 children, setting a positive and uplifting atmosphere. The Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation's Flashmob and dance at HOPE 2023 were meticulously choreographed by the talented duo, Mr. Aneesh and Mr. Mayur, both esteemed students of SGRF, adding a vibrant and unforgettable dimension to the event. The lighting of the lamp ceremony was conducted by esteemed figures including Dr. S.D. Banavali, Ms. Gayatri Raheja, Dr. Girish Chinnaswamy, Ms. Shalini Jatia, and Ms. Ameeta Bhatia. Tata Ke Kapil Sharma then introduced the representation of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, played by Abid and Lavina, followed by a captivating dance performance by TMC (Tata memorial center) Group, choreographed by Anamika, featuring 16 children. Ms. Louan from the Sheila Raheja Business School and student representative of SGRF gave a heart warming speech on behalf of SGRF, followed by the lively Flagship performance showcased by the talented children of St. Jude. The event further unfolded with a presentation on Hope and the Journey of Hope 2023, followed by Tata Ke Kapil introducing TMC's Arijit Singh represented by a cancer survivor named Zenith. Dr. Gupta, Director of Tata Memorial Centre, and Ms. Amruta Phadnavis addressed the audience, leading to performances by survivors and students of SGRF. Mr. Avi then invited Bollywood actress Ms. Alia Bhatt who interacted with the children who are fighting through cancer, followed by Tata Ke Kapil introducing a singing performance by Adnan Sami (represented by Shariq) and Shaan (represented by Khwaish), along with dance performances themed on superheroes. Dr. Sudhakar Shinde shared his thoughts, leading to a captivating interaction in Tata's Kapil Sharma Show. Mr. Kapil Sharma an Indian Comedy TV show host who then addressed the audience, and Ms. Alia Bhatt interacted with him and gave a sweet motivation speech to the strong cancer fighting soldiers. A soulful tribute to Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Da, represented by survivors, preceded a dance performance by the children of Kharghar Group. Tata Ke Kapil then engaged in a conversation with Kareena (represented by Gunjan), followed by a dance performance by survivors and Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation students . The event reached its crescendo with Tata Ke Kapil talking with Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam (represented by Akanksha Zade and Dr. Ram) and their subsequent singing performances. The grand finale featured a dance performance to Hrithik Roshan's songs by survivors and SGRF students dancing their hearts out. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and a dazzling finale by DJ Chetas. The exit was announced by Ameet. The presence of luminaries like Mr. Kapil Sharma, Ms. Alia Bhatt, Ms. Amruta Fadnavis, Ms. Shaheen Bhatt, Ms. Rupali Ganguli, Dr. Sudhakar Shinde, DJ Chetas, and Miss Durga Raheja, Executive of Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation, added to the event's significance. The hard work and dedication of all involved made HOPE 2023 a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees. Attending this event were many Cancer fighting patients ,their parents as well as well renowned Oncologists and doctors along with the SGRF and IMPACCT foundation staff,students and faculty. In conclusion, HOPE 2023 emerges as a beacon of strength and solidarity in the fight against cancer. The unwavering spirit, shared by survivors, supporters, and distinguished guests, has not only celebrated resilience but ignited a flame of hope that continues to shine brightly on the path towards conquering this formidable challenge. As the curtains drew on this event, it left behind not just memories but a profound sense of unity, resilience, and a shared commitment to continue the fight against cancer, illuminating a path of hope for all that are touched by its dark shadow.
