Beyond Academics
While the education we provide in classrooms and laboratories is restricted to the prescribed syllabi and does equip students with the knowledge and skills required, it is necessary to complement it with periodic real-world exposure for enabling the students with both theoretical & practical knowledge and significantly enhancing their confidence and self-belief.
At Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management we are cognizant that young students need to socialize, participate in sports and express their innate selves in order to acquire an appropriate balance that will tangibly improve the quality of their academic outlook and experience. Several social, cultural and literary activities are planned in tandem with but not to the detriment of on-going academics.
The term commences with a ‘Freshers Party’ for our newly joined first-year students – a tradition of true Hospitality and a way to Welcome them at the Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management!
Theme Lunches that blend cultures, cuisines and celebrate festivals to create the right ambience will be organized by students under the guidance of faculty members.
Theme Dinners are conducted to showcase the college, on a larger scale, to the world outside and students will have a chance to display their professional skills, entrepreneurial talent and managerial aptitude. These events will be conceptualized, planned and implemented by the students as a team, giving them a splendid opportunity to make a point for themselves.
Annual Study Tours are conducted as a getaway from the academic routine while acquainting students with the commercial aspects of hospitality and cultural aspects of tourism.
An Annual Sports Event is organized with a view to encourage students to participate and stay healthy in an industry that demands physical fitness and mental stamina. A healthy body is certainly the key to a healthy mind!
Quizzes, cultural, literary and hospitality based competitions at intra and inter-collegiate levels, provide students with varied possibilities to express & showcase their talents.
Students will also be addressed by guest speakers and achievers from hospitality and allied industries, participation in field visits, topographical tours, workshops and visiting trade exhibitions to keep abreast of the dynamic ‘real world of Hotel and Food and Beverage’.
Outgoing students are felicitated at the Annual Valedictory Function and their performances recognized by awards for excellence in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
At Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management we truly believe that such co-curricular and extracurricular activities are a great way to unfold intelligence & passions!
Our calendar of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities around the year, specifically curated for our budding hotel professionals and entrepreneurs, will excite, extend, exceed, excel and empower students, motivating them to participate and compete thus ensuring their overall holistic development as hospitality graduates!
