Chef Rupak Mitra is a graduate in science from University of Kolkata & has also completed his Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from the premier Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata. He started his career with the eminent Taj group of hotels.
His passion for food took him around the globe to different countries in Africa and the Middle East.
He was awarded for ‘Business Excellence’ from Indian Hotels Company Limited for pioneering the Deccan Odyssey project, the articles of which were published in Sunday Telegraph, UK in Oct, 2005. His contribution in Trans- Siberian has been depicted in the book ‘T-bone whacks & Caviar Snacks’ by American author Ms Sharon Hudgins. His work for ISO 9000 (Quality Control) for Intercat Trading LLC, Dubai has been published in Khaleej Times, Dubai as sponsored feature in October, 1999. He was elected as Member of Hospitality (MIH) from UK in 2000. His last assignment was with IIHM, Kolkata.
