11th National Amateur Bartending Competition 2023

The TYBSc (HS) students of the Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM) participated enthusiastically in the 11th National Amateur Bartending Competition 2023, a state level intercollege hospitality competition, held by the D.Y. Patil Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Nerul. The event took place at the DY Patil stadium pavilion 1 at Nerul. The SRIHM students from TYBSC (HS) who participated in the competition were Ms Bhavika Gaonkar and Ms Mitali Pilankar. They had to make a cocktail in 5 minutes, with only 6 ingredients using Gin Or Whiskey. Ms. Mitali Pilankar prepared a drink named ‘Who's awake?’ It was derived from the Kojagiri Purnima masala doodh beverage as the drink was a twisted version of the same, which had saffron infused gin, almond milk, fresh cream and homemade fig compote garnished with almond crackers. It was presented in a parfait glass. Ms Bhavika Gaonkar prepared a drink named Espresso Elixir which means medicinal solution. It was a healthy drink made by using rosemary infused with sugar syrup, espresso shot ,whisky and garnished with rosemary presented in a martini glass rimmed with chocolate to enhance the flavour and for the visual appeal. Ms. Roxanne from the Cooperage Bar School won the competition. The students were provided with participation certificates for participating in the competition.
