Admission Policies

No application shall be considered for admission unless it is accompanied with the attested copies of the following documents:-

• Statement of marks of the qualifying examination.
• School /College Leaving Certificate (after qualifying examination).
• Statement of Marks of (II) Std. X (ii) Std XII or equivalent examination.
• Caste Certificate (if the candidate belongs to Reserved Category).
• Documents required for sons and daughters of Defence Service Personnel.

Copies of certificates attached to the application form should be attested by the Principal of a School/College/Institute or a Gazetted Officer or a Special Executive Magistrate.Original Certificates are required to be submitted at the time of scrutiny of the application prior to admission and such certificates shall remain in the college until the student completes his/her program.

Application for admission will not be considered unless it is

• Correctly, completely and clearly filled in.
• Accompanied by attested copies of the required certificates in support of the claims made in the application.
• Statement of Marks of (II) Std. X (ii) Std XII or equivalent examination.
• Received in the office on or before the stipulated last date.

Applications to the 3 year University of Mumbai Degree program in Hospitality Studies shall be considered subject to a candidate obtaining minimum aggregate of 45% marks in case of open category and minimum aggregate of 40% marks in case of Reserved category, in the Std XII or equivalent examination from any recognized Board/University.

Final selection shall be made on the basis of their performance in

• Written test.
• Group Discussion
• personal interview

The admission centre will intimate candidates regarding the respective stages of admission by posting the schedules at its premises

After following the procedure mentioned above, a final list of successful applicants shall be displayed.

Annual tuition and other fees (uniform, books toolkit, study tour etc) as prescribed by the Institute have to be paid by the student by the stipulated dates

a) 50% of the seats are retained for the Reserved Category as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra

b) Defence Services Personnel (DSP): 5% seats of the total sanctioned intake, program wise, subject to a maximum of five seats shall be for sons/daughters of Defence Service Personnel

To be eligible for the seats, the following conditions shall apply:

  • The candidate is the son or daughter of a person who has been a member of the Armed Forces of India and who has put in at least 5 years of active service and has been subject to Indian Navy Act. Indian Army Act, Indian Air Force Act. This also includes ex-servicemen who retired from such service or were permanently disabled or killed in action. The condition of minimum active service for 5 years shall not be applicable to the service personnel who are permanently disabled or killed in action.
  • The candidate shall be required to produce a certificate in the prescribed proforma, i.e. Proforma ‘A’, from the appropriate authority of the Armed Forces i.e. the rank of Commandant or equivalent or from the Sainik Board, certifying that the candidate fulfills the condition in clause (i) above.

c) Female Candidates: 30% seats of the sanctioned intake, program wise, shall be reserved for female candidates where such seats are open for male as well as female candidates.

If a candidate has applied simultaneously for admission to other institutes, this fact must be stated in the application form for being considered for refund of fee deposit if any.

Provisional admission shall be offered only after payment of fees and confirmed only after verification of certificates by the competent authorities.

a) A candidate once admitted to the first year or semester of a program shall not be transferred during the same year or semester to any other institution.

b) The rule for transfer of candidates shall be applicable between unaided institutions, provided both institutions agree, in writing (No Objection Certificate), to such transfer. Such transfer must also be approved by the concerned University or Board and its Examination Authority.

a) If an admitted candidate cancels his/her admission by submitting an application in writing, for any reason whatsoever, including getting admission in any other institution/program (other than those which are within the admission purview of the concerned Admission Officer), he/she shall forfeit his/her candidature and reconsideration of candidature.

b) If during the program of studies a candidate desires to discontinue his/her studies for any reason whatsoever, he/she shall be allowed to do so by submitting an application in writing. He/she shall be issued a leaving certificate as provided in the rules.

c) Any application for cancellation of considered shall not be entertained unless received in the office on or before the last date prescribe.

Rules regarding refund will be as per the Refund Policy of University of Mumbai.

The Institute expects all students admitted to any program under its purview to conform with and follow all rules that are laid down by the college and documented in the prospectus, admission form and rule booklet. Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is prohibited and shall be treated as a criminal offence in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 which is in effect from 15th May 1999.

Candidates with any contagious disease or skin disorders of any kind will not be admitted in the Institute. The college reserves the right to have any student examined by a Medical Practitioner approved by the Institute.

a) If the admission is cancelled within 90 days from the commencement of the program, the original school/college leaving certificate, on the basis of which the candidate was admitted, shall be returned to him/her.

b) If the admission is cancelled after the 90th day from the commencement of the program, a student shall be issued the leaving certificate from the institution where he/she was finally admitted.

c) A true copy of the original school/college leaving certificate, retained by the Admission Officer or the Institute, may be issued if requested by the candidate, with attestation by the Head of the Institute

d) After confirmation of admission, the original school/college leaving certificate, on the basis of which the candidate has been granted admission, shall not be handed over to the candidate unless as per the provisions of these rules.
