The use of mobile phones by students is prohibited on the 5th and 6th floor of the college. The use of mobile phones is, however, permitted in the students’ cafeteria area on the 6th floor strictly during break hours only. If a student is found using a mobile phone, without prior permission of faculty, for any reason whatsoever – be it entertainment, information/data retrieval/exchange or receiving/making calls/messages, it will be confiscated with all accessories in use at that time. Confiscated mobiles shall be returned only after the student completes the final year, irrespective of when such confiscation is enforced. Although we understand and appreciate the usefulness of mobile phones, their use may hinder and hamper academics when used unnecessarily and propagate a non-professional ambiance within the campus.
Personal computing devices such as tablets, netbooks and laptops need to be expressly sanctioned before being brought into the Institute premises and may be used for educational/academic purposes only
If an approved person, spots a student in the act of using a mobile phone unauthorizedly and in an excluded area/zone, the student is requested to surrender his/her mobile phone immediately and without argument or excuses.
